Your next role You will be joining a high-performing, privately owned commercial builder delivering complex new build and D&C projects across Melbourne. The business sits comfortably in the upper Tier 2 space, delivering projects typically ranging from $80M to $120M, with a strong secured pipeline well beyond the next few years. The salary range on offer sits within $150k - $180k plus super, depending on experience (this isn't a junior level role, it's a stepping stone from Senior Contract Admin/Senior Engineering/Design Management/Project Coordination and into Project Management). As the Assistant Project Manager, you will report directly to an experienced Project Manager and Senior leadership team, working as part of a strong project delivery group. You will be exposed to the full project lifecycle, from early procurement and design coordination through to construction delivery and handover. This is not a role where you'll be parked in the corner updating registers forever. You will be trusted with responsibility, expected to think commercially, and supported to develop into a fully-fledged Project Manager over time. The business has a strong track record of promoting from within, and this role exists due to continued project wins rather than backfilling churn. Does this suit you? This role will suit an Assistant Project Manager or experienced Contract Administrator (or perhaps a Project Engineer, Design Manager or Senior Coordinator) who wants genuine project exposure and a clear pathway forward. You'll likely already have experience working for a commercial building head contractor, enjoy being close to the action on site, and want to understand how projects are actually run, not just administered. If you're someone who takes pride in your work, communicates well with consultants and subcontractors, and wants to build a long-term career rather than jump from job to job, you'll fit in well here. Should you apply? You will be considered suitable if you meet most of the following, Experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Contract Administrator (or roles mentioned above) with a commercial building head contractor Exposure to projects over $20M, ideally new build or complex D&C An understanding of procurement, cost control, and consultant coordination Good tenure in previous roles, showing stability and commitment A professional, switched-on approach, comfortable dealing with site teams and senior stakeholders Must have full work rights (Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen) To Apply Send your resume to Martin Preece or call him on 0400 934 025 to discuss the role in confidence.
